Kip Chace

Kip is in his 23rd year in executive search. He began his career in sales management at Milliken and Company, one of the largest privately held manufacturers.

In 1985, he entered the executive search field with a boutique search firm. His clients were Fortune 500 companies such as Pepsi and General Signal. In 1998, he joined the firm IMCOR, the interim management recruiting company. IMCOR was the pioneer in recruiting senior management and turn-around executives for both sponsored companies and Fortune 500 companies on a project basis. In 2000 he co-founded Logan Chace, a boutique search firm servicing mostly private equity firms and their portfolio companies. It was created with the intent of providing superior service by working closely with sponsors and their portfolio companies and delivering quality candidates in the shortest timeframe.

 
David S. Johnson - Execucap Southeast Partner

David began his career with major consumer products companies. He was with Avon for 12 years where he pioneered the use of testing and in-depth interviewing techniques to select and train the nationwide Avon sales management team.

In 1985, he entered the executive search field with a boutique search firm. His clients were Fortune 100 companies such as General Instrument, Rockwell, and UTC. In 1990, he became part of the start-up of IMCOR. In the early 90's with IMCOR, his work focused on turnaround and crisis management for clients such as GE Capital and several New York area private equity firms. In the late 90's, he continued working with private equity and venture capital firms focused on evaluating and recruiting executors for early stage growth companies as well as basic industrial companies. He worked with HR Consulting companies to develop metrics for predicting success of executives in highly leveraged, growth companies.

David has an exclusive relationship with a private equity fund  and has expertise working with lower middle market family owned businesses.

 

Mike Hagerthy - Execucap West Coast Partner

Mike started his career in banking and holds a bachelors degree in Marketing and an MBA in Finance. He was recruited to be one of the early marketing professionals in the public accounting arena where he spent over eight years as the regional head of marketing for three major firms including Deloitte.

He began his recruiting career over 17 years ago when he became a partner in a startup venture, IMCOR, which was providing senior interim executives for private equity funds and large corporate clients.  He helped build IMCOR to be the largest firm of its kind in the country and continued with the firm after it was sold to an NYSE company.

Since the late ‘90’s Mike has been working in retained executive search with two major firms.  He has conducted over 150 searches in multiple industries and functions. Most of Mike’s clients are growing middle market companies many of which are owned by private equity firms.

Mike is also a sought after speaker for business groups, industry associations and management retreats.  His topics include “The 5 BIG Hiring Mistakes Most Companies Make and How to Avoid Them”, "How to Hire ‘Jockeys’ in Your Portfolio Companies”, “How to Avoid Hiring ‘Tom Cruz’- Making Your Hiring Managers Better Interviewers” and others.
